about

Most of my songs start off on the piano and eventually evolve from there. I ultimately decided that I liked the piano line for "Love Across Lightyears" so much that I decided to keep it as the main driving force for this song.

Lyrically this has to do with a ten year long distance relationship I was in from 2005-2015. I've since bridged that gap, but it's nice to romanticize what it felt like being so far away from the person I loved. It felt like there were planets between us on the best of days.

lyrics

Lyrics:

You know that I love you
With all of my heart
Though you must understand
That on this world…
I cannot!

Then why did you say…
That we would always be?
That you would be there.
Just you, the stars. And me.

I will be!
No! Not this time
No! Not in this life.
My soul can’t live without you.
But tonight? Our love has died.

Love is like a second wind
That allows us all to breathe.
But for some they’ll die without a breath
Far away…from across the sea…
of Stars—you’ll learn to catch glimpse of our love
Know that I care.
That we’ll meet once more on other worlds
That we’d die to just get there.

Moving on.

For our love across lightyears
Seems so far to me
Won’t you say?
We must find another way.
When our love across lightyears
Seems so far from me
Won’t you say…
We can find another way.

Moving on now. Moving on.
Moving on now. Moving on now.
Moving on.
Moving on now. Moving on.
Moving on now. Moving on now.
Moving on.
